Orrett Rhoden and Dexter
Recordings present Orrett Rhoden International Piano
Competition 2013, which will be
held in Kingston, Jamaica in August 2013.
The winner will receive the Ida Lindo
Memorial Prize of $50,000.
Recording contracts with Dexter Recordings will be offered to all
6 Finalists.
Requirements for the Orrett
Rhoden International Piano Competition 2013
1.
No age limit.
2.
Choice of repertoire is
restricted to pieces performed by Orrett Rhoden on his recordings “Orrett Rhoden
Performs…” available on iTunes, Amazon, and CDbaby.com
3.
Contestants must provide a
short essay stating their reasons for entering the competition and how they
intend to use their talent to impact the world community.
4.
There are 3 rounds in this
competition. The first 2 of 3 rounds will be judged from repertoire recorded videos
submitted by the contestants via DHL or FedEx, no later than February 1, 2013,
to the following address:

1st and 2nd round DVDs must
be submitted at the same time.
5.
1st
round – repertoire of 15 minutes
2nd round – repertoire of 45 minutes
6 finalists will be chosen following eliminations in the first and
second rounds. All 6 finalists must be prepared to perform live their own
arrangement of Bob Marley’s “One Love”.
6.
3rd round - Finalists will travel, at their
own expense, to Kingston, Jamaica, to perform a 60 minute repertoire before the
audience and the panel of international judges, on August 11-12, 2013.
The winner of the 3rd
round will receive the Ida Lindo Memorial Prize of $50,000
